Free Printable Housewarming Party Invitations
83These free printable housewarming invitations are close to my heart, because we've been trying to move for over FOUR years. I'd love nothing more than to throw myself a housewarming party, but we can't seem to get out of our house!
We put our South Florida house on the market right after Hurricane Wilma came through in 2005 and made our neighborhood look like a war zone. Within 24 hours we went from a well-kept community to a place where trees lay broken in the streets, roofs had holes in them and debris was everywhere. And then it got worse. All those people who had overbought in the booming pre-Wilma real estate market could no longer flip their properties easily, so they either went into foreclosure or sold at way under market value. Try selling a house when some of your neighbors are giving theirs away at fire sale prices! Oh well, never mind. Winter in Florida is fantastic; I'll start worrying about moving again as the heat and humidity start to creep back in April or May.
Anyway, I hope that you're on this page because you have been able to move and are looking for free housewarming party invitations to invite people to come and see your new home. If so, help yourself and have fun; just please be sure to honor the terms of use.

Instructions for the Housewarming Party Invitations
1.
Download the housewarming invitation design you prefer
Click on a housewarming invitation thumbnail in the right column and a larger version will appear. When you see the larger version, double-click it to make an even larger one open in another window. If you have a Mac, control-click the image until you see the option to save it to your hard drive. If you use a PC, right-click on the image with your mouse and save the image to your hard drive.
2.
Paste the housewarming invitation template into software
These housewarming invitations are in the correct proportions to fit into A7 or or A4 envelopes. To fit those standard envelope sizes, the final invitations should be 5" high x 7" wide for A7 or 3 1/2" x 4 7/8" for A4. If you'll be distributing them in person, though, you can obviously make them whatever size you want.
If you own Publisher, Quark or any other publishing program, you
probably already know how to position the artwork to prepare it for printing. But if
you don't
happen to have one of those, Microsoft Word can be used instead. The instructions
below are for Word, using one image
on a page. If you want to have
more than one invitation on a page, you can do so through the use of a
table or text boxes. If you're not familiar with those, you can learn about using them in Word's help menu.
To start, find the housewarming invitation on your hard drive that you downloaded in step 1, and insert it into a new document using MS Word's Picture menu. In Word 2007, you'll find this by clicking on the Insert tab and then on the Picture button. (If you have a different version of Word, check the help menu for instructions.) Clicking on the Picture button will cause a pull-down menu to appear that will let locate the image on your hard drive and insert it into a blank document.
After you've inserted the artwork into the document, click on the image to make it editable. You will then be able to size it by dragging one of the corners with your mouse until the graphic measures 5" x 7", 3 1/2" x 4 7/8" or any other size. (Make sure to drag from the corner, not the side, or the image will distort.) It might be challenging to measure the art correctly on your computer screen, so get the size as close to what you want as you can and then print a draft copy. Then, measure the image on the printed sheet with a ruler to verify the size. If it's not correct, keep adjusting and printing until the invitation is the size you want.
3.
Print the housewarming invitations
Once you're satisfied with the size, print
as many invitations as you need, using
the thickest card stock allowed by your printer. You can verify the
maximum
thickness allowed by visiting the
printer manufacturer's Web site or reading the
manual.
